Alicia Huylebroeck

Instructor

Alicia grew up in South Jersey and was caught dancing in her diaper to Humpty Dumpty at the age of 2. Shortly after, she began studying tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, and Irish step dancing at her local studio. When Alicia's love for dance, music, and the arts only grew, and she couldn't keep her dancing feet hidden underneath her school desk, she auditioned and was accepted at the Gloucester County institute of Technology with a major in Dance. There, she continued to study ballet and jazz, as well as modern dance.

Her journey with ballroom dance began after her acceptance into Rowan University's Theatre Arts program with a concentration in Dance. She studied modern dance, ballet, dance improvisation, theatre arts, and more under Paule Turner, Leslie Elkins, and Melanie Stewart. After joining the ballroom dance class in 2012 taught by none other than Gene LaPierre, she fell in love with the world of ballroom dance and it's community.

Alicia has traveled up and down the east coast with students to numerous competitions and has had the pleasure of being in the Top 10 instructors at many of these competitions. Alicia has been fortunate enough to perform in the Miss'd America Pageant in Atlantic City, The Philadelphia Fringe festival in stage productions such as, "Kill Me Now" and "The Swan", and Gloucester County Dancing With the stars - winning 3 times! Alicia has also been in various TV shows and movies, such as Adam Sandler's movie, "Hustle", and HBO's, "Love Life" and "And Just Like That..."

She hopes to share her positivity, her love for dance, and the magic of the dance world through it's universal language.
